Faculty Specialist Position

Description:
The University of Maryland ADHD Program is seeking a Faculty Specialist (Research Assistant) with a strong foundation in interventions research to begin as early as September 8th, 2020. The Faculty Specialist will be primarily involved with the ADHD in Families Study (NIMH Collaborative R01 grant) with the University of Maryland, Children’s National Health System, and Seattle Children’s Hospital (PIs: Dr. Andrea Chronis-Tuscano and Dr. Mark Stein). The primary focus of the ADHD in Families Study is to test the comparative effectiveness of two different treatment strategies for parents who have ADHD and their young children at risk for ADHD using a hybrid effectiveness-implementation approach. Secondarily, as part of this grant, we will develop an implementation approach for treatment of multiplex ADHD families using telehealth in primary care sites providing pediatric care. This is a one-year position (with the possibility of renewal for additional years). Start date is as early as September 8th, 2020.

Responsibilities include facilitating study assessments; forming and maintaining relationships with primary care clinics/community stakeholders; recruitment; data management and processing in Redcap and SPSS.

Necessary qualifications include: 1) a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field; 2) research experience in the content of clinical research; 3) proficiency with SPSS; 4) excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Applicants who have a research background in ADHD, interventions, and/or community-based implementation research, will be given strongest consideration.
