Psychology Majors studying the History of Mental Health Treatment in Vienna, Austria!

PSYC Terps studying abroad in Vienna, Austria!
Guten tag! A group of University of Maryland students is currently living in Vienna, Austria and studying the history of mental health treatment from ancient times up to the present day. Vienna was chosen due to its significance to psychology's history at the turn-of-the-20th century through notable figures like Sigmund Freud, Alfred Adler, Carl Jung, and Viktor Frankl, among other pioneers in mental health theory and treatment. Students also visit the nearby cities of Salzburg, Austria and Budapest, Hungary due to their significance to psychology's mental health history. This summer 2017 short-term education abroad course through the University of Maryland is taught by Dr. McGann and was taught previously in 2013. It is likely that this program may continue to be offered once every few years. Follow these students' experiences abroad through their shared course blog, with pictures and posts about their learning and travels!
