Research Assistant Position


Description:
The Child Stress and Emotions Lab at the University of Maryland investigates:
  • The developmental origins of our body’s stress response system and how the stress system is related to risk and resiliency in early childhood
  • The effects of early life experience on children’s neurobiological, affective, cognitive and social development
  • The neurobiological basis of emotion regulation in childhood
  • Mental health problems in preschool-age children
Responsibilities:
  • Engage in research with young children
  • Receive supervised training in a research laboratory
  • Learn about child psychopathology
  • Receive advice regarding graduate school and careers in psychology
  • Earn course credit
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Experience with or interest in working with elementary school aged children 
  • Able to commit to Summer and Fall 2013 semesters for a minimum of 9 hours/week
