UNIV100 TAs co-facilitate a section of UNIV100, UMD’s one credit seminar. This course is designed to help new students get the most out of their first semester, alongside a faculty or staff member.
UNIV100 TAs are considered student leaders and foundational members of the Office of New Student Orientation and Transition. They are trained in leadership development, communication skills, helping skills, and educational pedagogy to help form meaningful relationships with incoming first year students.
