Passionate about working with students on the Autism Spectrum? Apply To Be A Part-Time Paraeducator with Montgomery County Public Schools!

Westland Middle School is a public middle school in Bethesda, MD (Montgomery County Public Schools)
serving 850 students. Within the comprehensive school, there is a specialized program serving students with Autism. 

Description: We are looking for a one-to-one paraeducator to work 6 hours (or 5 hours) to support an individual student with specific needs. In any classroom setting, the paraeducator would be one of 3, 4 or 5 adults serving a group of students. Job during winter break or longer depending on availability. This is an itinerant position (no medical or retirement benefits) but a great experience and a foot in the door within the public school system.

Responsibilities:
-breaking down academic concepts
-taking notes
-redirecting student's attention
-monitoring behavior
-assisting with organization

Qualifications:
-2 or more years working with children OR AA degree
-Patience
-Perseverance
-Cleared Fingerprinting
