Description:
The Clinical and Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory conducts behavioral and neuroscientific research about substance use disorders, comorbid mental health concerns, and related risk factors. The Clinical Assessor Position will work with a team of UMD researchers, clinicians, and graduate students to conduct diagnostic psychological assessments on patients in partnered community-based residential treatment centers in DC/Baltimore, recruit patients into the research process, and provide clinical resources to real treatment settings. Assessed patients benefit from increased individualized diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and opportunities to participate in paid research. Accepted Clinical Assessors will have strong interpersonal and writing skills, interest in graduate studies and careers in psychology, and a desire to aid substance use patient care and contribute to psychological research on minority clinical populations.


Responsibilities:
-10-15 hour weekly commitment
-Travel to DC/Baltimore to conduct clinical assessments
-Write a report for each assessment (2 Pages)
-Attend weekly supervision meeting (1 Hour)
-Enter data from interviews

Qualifications:
-Completion of a course in Abnormal psychology, or equivalent
-Own transportation to DC/Baltimore
-Strong writing skills
-Strong interpersonal skills
-Human subjects research experience preferred
-Data entry experience preferred
-Experience with clinical populations preferred
-Interest in psychology career grad studies preferred
