Mentor and Tutor elementary school students in Prince George's County Schools!

Did you know that more than 75% of low-income students in Maryland aren’t proficient in reading by the 4th grade? Without individual assistance, they may never catch up to their peers.

You can help make a difference for kids!

America Reads*America Counts*Partners in Print is a mentoring/tutoring program where more than 200 UMD students work weekly to improve the literacy and math skills of Prince George’s County Title 1 elementary school students.

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic college students who love working with kids and want to give back to their community. America Reads*America Counts*Partners in Print is a great way to meet new friends on campus, develop essential leadership skills, and gain valuable resume-building experience!

We are currently recruiting for each of our programs. Students can volunteer, receive academic or internship credit, or, if eligible for Federal Work Study, can be paid to work with our program! Don’t know if you have Federal Work Study? Check your Financial Aid package at financialaid.umd.edu

Visit go.umd.edu/mentorSP2020 to learn more and to apply. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until January 31, 2020 at 5pm.
