Research Assistant positions for NIMH study on social behavior in psychosis.

Dr. Blanchard's NIMH-funded lab conducts research on how psychotic disorders can interfere with healthy social relationships. Currently he is studying how social affliation is altered in psychosis using behavioral assessments along with brain imaging (fMRI). Depending on the position, responsibilities may include:

1) Male research assistants needed to conduct structured social interactions with research participants at the Maryland Neuroimaging Center (MNC): http://www.mnc.umd.edu
2) Accompany participants during their imaging assessment.
3) Attend weekly lab meetings.

OR

1) Research assistants of any gender needed to assist with video coding of participants
2) Video data transcription
3) Recruitment of research participants
4) Data entry and miscellaneous tasks
5) Attend weekly lab meetings

Requirements:
* Minimum 3.2 GPA
* Must be able to provide a 2 semester commitment of approximately 8-10 hours per week through 2019-2020 academic year (summer start is ideal but not required).
* Pass fMRI safety screening and safety training (if assisting with tasks at the neuroimaging center).
* Ideally suited for Psychology majors interested in graduate school or medical school.
