Research Assistant Positions

Center for School Mental Health (CSMH)

The Center for School Mental Health (CSMH) at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is located on UMB’s downtown campus.

We are seeking reliable and motivated undergraduate and graduate students to participate in a research internship during the Summer and/or Fall semesters. Internship activities will include review and synthesis of literature related to school mental health, data entry and analysis, and participation in research projects related to mental health services for children and adolescents. Primary responsibilities are associated with a research grant funded by the Institute of Education Sciences that investigates the effectiveness of a school-based intervention to promote students’ academic outcomes and social-emotional health. An intern will join a multidisciplinary team and be part of a supportive training environment.

Students must be available to volunteer at least 10 on-site hours/week at our National Center, which is the only federally funded center specifically focused on mental health in schools. Our mission is to strengthen policies and programs in school mental health to improve learning and promote success for America’s youth. Our Center is part of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
