Next fall, the Psychology Department will be initiating the Transfer Integration Program for Psychology Students (TIPS). This program is designed to provide TIPS to community college PSYC Transfer Terps on successfully adjusting to the academic and social challenges of being a UMD Psychology Major.

Topics may include:
-Adapting to larger, less personal class sizes
-Matching study strategies to the tasks required of specific psychology courses
-Understanding instructor expectations and learning how to think beyond textbooks and lectures
-Conducting outreach to advisors and faculty to identify and successfully secure experiential learning opportunities outside the classroom
-Establishing a mentoring relationship with a professor or advisor within the psychology department
-Developing academic and social support connections with fellow PSYC Transfer Terps
-Adhering to a new set of department and university academic policies  pertaining toward completion of your psychology degree

Eligibility:
-Transfer Student from a Maryland two year community college
-BA or BS in Psychology Major
-Full-time Enrollment Status
