Description:Full-time position for intake coordinator at Alvord, Baker & Associates, LLC, a large group private practice that provides evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. We have two offices, in Rockville and Chevy Chase, MD (www.alvordbaker.com). Clinicians include 18 psychologists and 3 clinical social workers, who provide individual, family, and group services to children, teens and adults. We also provide comprehensive psychological testing including autism evaluations. In addition to providing clinical services, we provide professional development including 2- year Cognitive Behavior Therapy Training institute and regular continuing education programs certified by APA. A unique aspect of this practice is a partnership with Catholic University of America to conduct outcome research on group members participating in the Resilience Builder Program® at several schools in Washington D.C.
Responsibilities:
The intake coordinator talks with prospective clients over the phone to provide information about the practice and services, documents all pertinent intake information using Microsoft Excel, organizes a waitlist, and refers potential clients to therapists for services. The coordinator also scores brief assessments and performs front desk duties such as greeting clients and processing financial transactions. Additional opportunities for research and clinical experience are negotiable.
Qualifications:
The position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with a preference for those with a Master’s degree in Psychology. Two year minimum commitment required. Salary is competitive and includes benefits. Some unique benefits include access to APA approved continuing education programs offered throughout the year. Position opens in June 1, in the Chevy Chase office, but candidate may start as late as mid-July. Training will be provided by current intake coordinator who is moving on to earn her doctorate.
