Full-time Research Assistant positions with Children's National Medical Center Behavioral Diabetes Research Team!

Research assistant/Coordinator positions
Start Date: ASAP- or June 2018

Work on NIH funded studies on children and young adults with Type 1 diabetes

Looking to fill 2-3 positions- a masters- or qualified bachelor-level research coordinator and/or
assistant with interest in children’s health for a full-time paid position, including a competitive benefits package. Become part of a collaborative clinical research team, under the supervision of Drs. Randi Streisand and Maureen Monaghan at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities include:
· Coordinating multi-site clinical intervention trials, including scheduling and tracking participant recruitment, retention, and follow-up completion
· Assisting with the development and implementation of multiple research studies, including both new and ongoing projects
· Recruiting and enrolling participants including collecting data through in-person or telephone interviews with youth and parents while maintaining confidentiality
· Conducting medical record reviews
· Data entry/management/analysis
· Supervising and training undergraduates and/or research assistants and delegating lab responsibilities
· Assisting with editing of manuscripts for publication
· Liaising with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to maintain research ethical compliance
· Initiating and overseeing contractual agreements with study vendors

Research Opportunities include:
· Experience on prospective, clinical research studies with potential for presentations/ publications
· Preparation for graduate school in psychology, public health, or medicine
· Working collaboratively with medical professionals from a range of disciplines including psychology, medicine, nursing, nutrition, and other related disciplines

Additional Requirements:
-Prior experience in clinical human subjects research
-One-year minimum commitment with option of longer position
-Reliable transportation/willingness to travel to metro area study sites
-Evening hours for phone calls

Additional recommended qualifications:
-Knowledge of and experience in working with IRBs
-Experience using statistical software (e.g. Microsoft Excel, SPSS)
-Experience working with clinical patient populations and families

Salary commensurate with experience.
