Research Assistant Positions

Description:
The Interpersonal Relationships Lab, directed by Professor Ed Lemay, is looking for motivated undergraduate Research Assistants for the Spring 2018 semester (who preferably desire to stay in the lab for Fall 2018) to aid in a variety of lab duties including video coding and data collection sessions. This lab examines social interaction, communication, perceptions and personality differences within close relationships including romantic couples and friendships. Research assistants will have the opportunity to work on several different projects investigating romantic relationships and friendships including investigation of the effects of guilt and projects examining the desire to be sexually valued. Research assistants will be responsible for daily lab activities including running participants through study protocols and providing feedback on study design. Opportunities are available for both Psyc 479 credit or volunteers.

Project #1:
Responsibilities:
-Aid in running participants in data collection sessions
-Coding video recorded interaction
-10 hours per week

Qualifications:
-At least a 3.0 GPA
-Reliable and organized
-Interested in subject matter/research
-Able to maintain professionalism in the lab
-Strong academic standing

Responsibilities:
-9 hours per week in the lab
-Data coding and entry
-Data collection
-Provide feedback on study design

Qualifications:
-Interest in social psychology and research
-Strong organizational and communication skills
-Minimum 3.0 GPA
-1 Semester commitment required (2 semesters preferred)
-Detail-oriented and punctual
