Spring research assistant position with the Child Development Lab!

Description:
The University of Maryland’s Child Development Laboratory, under the direction of Dr. Nathan Fox, is accepting applications for our spring internship. Successful applicants will work on the Temperament Over Time Study (TOTS), which is funded by the National Institute of Mental Health. The longitudinal study examines the effects of infant temperament on later social and cognitive development. Participants were recruited at 4 months of age and are now entering middle adolescence. Interns will gain experience with data entry, behavioral coding, EEG, and more. Those majoring in Psychology, Human Cognitive or Affective Neuroscience, or other social science related field are encouraged to apply. The position requires attention to detail, time management, and excellent interpersonal skills. Experience working or completing research with children is preferred but not required. A 6 hour (or 2-3 credit) commitment with some weekend availability is required.

Responsibilities:
-Minimum of 6 hours per week (2-3 credit hours)
-1-2 weekend days per month
-Data analysis
-Behavioral Coding
-Interacting with families and adolescents
-3 lab meetings per semester
