Volunteer Research Assistant Positions

Division of Hematology
Children's National Health System
Description:
The Division of Hematology at Children's National Health System is looking for summer volunteers to assist with a neurocognitive study involving children and adolescents with sickle cell disease. The purpose of this project is to evaluate social and biological predictors of neurocognitive functioning in youth with sickle cell disease and explore the efficacy of a home-based, computerized working memory training intervention.
Responsibilities:
-Assist with administration of psychological questionnaires and structured interviews
-Schedule study visits with participating families
-Enter data and conduct fidelity checks
-Interact with multidisciplinary clinical and research teams
-Assist with preparation of IRB materials
-16 hours per week
Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will have completed coursework or have experience in child development, cognitive psychology, social/behavioral research, or data management
Requires excellent organizational skills, communication, attention-to-detail, and flexibility
