Faculty, staff, and students are cordially invited to the annual Lavender Graduation at the University of Maryland, College Park. Please celebrate with us!
Lavender Graduation recognizes an important milestone in the lives of our LGBTQ+ and Allied graduates. Each LGBTQA+ graduate will receive a rainbow tassel and a certificate of achievement. This event also provides an opportunity for our community to come together and honor those among us who have worked to make College Park a better place for LGBTQ+ people.
This year's Lavender Graduation will be Friday, May 19, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in Memorial Chapel. Refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
The University's Campus-Wide Ceremony will be Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Xfinity Center. Individual College and School Ceremonies will be on Saturday, May 20 and Monday, May 22. A detailed list may be found here. You are encouraged to participate in all relevant commencement activities.
Graduates at all levels are especially encouraged to attend and bring family, friends, and other significant individuals in their lives. This may include members of faculty or staff. Of course, all faculty and staff are invited.
The LGBT Equity Center recommends dressy casual attire. Academic regalia is optional.
Lavender Graduates are strongly encouraged to fill out the form at https://go.umd.edu/lavgrad2017 as early as possible. Keep in mind that you may alter the number of guests at a later date if you need to. The LGBT Equity Center looks forward to seeing you there!
