Psi Chi Membership/E-Board Positions
Psi Chi was founded in 1929 with two main purposes: - to encourage, stimulate, and maintain excellence in scholarship - to advance the science of psychology. Psi Chi is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is affiliated with the American Psychological Society. Over 1,100 chapters are in operation around the world, with over 600,000 lifetime members. Distinguished individuals involved in Psi Chi include B.F. Skinner and Albert Bandura, among others. This organization offers over $350,000 in grants and awards each year and seeks to provide an academic environment that fosters creative development. Qualifications:
-3 Semesters at UMD - Undergraduate
-3.3 Psychology Course work GPA - Undergraduate
-3.0 Cumulative GPA - Undergraduate
-1 Semester at UMD - IF TRANSFER STUDENT - Undergraduate
-Declared Psychology Major at UMD - Undergraduate
-Grade average of a B in all course work - Graduate

Psi Chi Members must attend 3 meetings per semester and accumulate 3 points to retain membership and receive their undergraduate graduation honor cord.
