Center for Addictions Personality and Emotions Research (CAPER):

Description:
Substance Use Diagnosis and Treatment Research PSYC 479 Opportunity Conduct clinical diagnostic interviews with clients at a residential substance use treatment center in Washington, DC. The clinical interviews and associated research projects are conducted in the Center for Addiction and Personality Research (CAPER) with Dr. Julia Felton and Dr. Edward Bernat. As part of this experience, RAs will learn to conduct structured clinical interviews to diagnose substance use and other mental health disorders among a population of diverse, low-income substance users in residential treatment. RAs will also learn to write clinical diagnostic reports that will be presented to the clinical treatment team at the drug treatment center, and may have opportunities to become involved in research projects associated with the center.
Responsibilities:
-Conduct clinical diagnostic interviews
-Write clinical diagnostic reports

Qualifications:
-Prefer juniors and seniors
-Attendance at weekly one hour meetings Tuesdays at 12 Noon
-Available Tuesdays 12 Noon-1:00 pm for supervision
