Research Assistant Positions
Laboratory for the Study of Child and Family Relationships
Winter/Spring 2017

Description:
The Laboratory for the Study of Child and Family Relationships (LSCFR) is located in the
Department of Human Development and Quantitative Methodology, and is currently seeking highly motivated undergraduate research assistants for the Winter and/or Spring 2017 semesters. The primary goal of the LSCFR is to advance our understanding of child and adolescent social and emotional development. We are particularly interested in vulnerability and resilience among children at-risk for maladaptive psychosocial outcomes. LSCFR is currently conducting an NIMH-funded study examining early intervention programs for shy/behaviorally inhibited young children and their parents. Students will conduct live coding at children’s schools and in the lab (after a training period), help coordinate parent/child group sessions, assist with data entry/analysis, and assist with participant recruitment. Students will gain experience with the collection of physiological data and have direct contact with families.

Responsibilities:
-10 Hours Per Week (to earn 3 credits; EDHD 498)
-Minimum commitment of two semesters
-Assist with research visits
-Assist with group intervention sessions
-Live coding at schools
-Attend weekly laboratory meetings on Friday mornings (10:30 am-11:00 am)

Qualifications:
-Highly motivated
-Detail oriented
-Related major preferred
-Minimum 3.2 GPA
