Description:
The Family Involvement Lab is currently conducting a large and exciting project about reading in families with very young children (9 to 30 months of age). The Lab will be recruiting families of first-time mothers and fathers who speak English or Spanish. The Family Involvement Lab is interested in learning about how reading in families affects parents as well as children’s growth and development. (See our website at www.babybooks2.com). The Lab is searching for English and Spanish speaking undergraduate research assistants to assist with the study. This is a great opportunity for students who are interested in pursuing graduate work in the social sciences. Depending on interest & skill-level, there will be opportunities to write honors theses and participate in papers for publication. 

Responsibilities:
-Recruit families into the study
-Schedule home visits and phone calls with study families
-Participate in data collection
-Enter data
-3 research credits/10 hours per week

Qualifications:
-Effective communication skills
-Motivated
-Passion for working with families 
-Interest in social science research
-Collaborative spirit
