Description:

The LETS ACT study at CAPER is seeking several undergraduate research assistants to primarily assist us with data entry for a longitudinal therapy study with substance users who were in residential treatment. Volunteers in our lab have gone on to obtain paid research positions in other labs or in CAPER, and many have left with posters and writing experience. Although the positions will primarily involve data entry, we do our best to provide opportunities to work in the field with clients/participants. You will have the opportunity to shadow follow-up research assessments and clinical interviews in the drug treatment center. LETS ACT is an intervention aimed at improving depression and substance use among low-income minority drug users in Washington, D.C. Participants are recruited from a drug treatment center in Northeast Washington D.C. and receive 5-8 brief behavioral activation (BA) therapy sessions while in treatment. 

Responsibilities:
-5 hour per week commitment
-SPSS Data Entry of follow-up data from a randomized control trial
-Opportunity to shadow clinical interviews and follow-up research assessments

Qualifications:
-Psychology majors preferred
-Data entry experience is not necessary, but any experience will increase the chances of obtaining a position
-3.0 GPA or higher preferred
