Clinical Research Assistant position

Description:
The Pediatric Mood, Imaging, & NeuroDevelopment Program (PediMIND Program) of E.P. Bradley Hospital is looking for a full-time research assistant. The PediMIND Program's goal is to identify biological and behavioral markers (scans and tests) of psychiatric disease in children and young adults. Techniques used include specialized computer tasks/games, MRI neuroimaging, and genetic moderators. The program has an ongoing focus of bipolar disorder, suicide, and autism/developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities:
-Screening and scheduling research participants (ages 7-25 primarily) and families
-Data collections (administering questionnaires, special computer games, and working with our team to gather MRI neuroimaging data)
-Data processing (using Excel, SPSS, and MRI image analysis software)
-As the data and time permit, the research assistant may be involved in preparing data for presentation
-Start date is September 2014
-Most prior research assistants have gone on to attend medical school or psychology graduate school

Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree is psychology, neuroscience, biology, computer science, or related fields
-Interest in working with children and families
-Applicants should be enthusiastic, organized, and have an aptitude for multi-tasking
-Working knowledge of at least 2 of the following are required: (1) SPSS, (2) Excel, (3) MRI analysis software (e.g., AFNI, FSL, or SPM), OR (4) basic unix programming (e.g., basic C-shell scripting)
-Prior neuroimaging experience is a plus but not required
