Employee Services Intern
Human Resources Division
Chemonics seeks an intern to support life cycle and benefits activities in the Employees Services Department of our Human Resources Division. The company is looking for people who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities:
•Create and update records in the consultant database on a daily basis; place notes, maintain standardized database procedures, and track responses received
•Send emails acknowledging receipt of resumes and other information/documents on registration in the consultant database
•Support staff with recruitment advertising placement; monitor advertisement inbox and post home-office and international positions via third-party vendor
•Monitor the New Hire Mailbox; answer requests for account information and password resets for applicants and respond to requests for informational interviews
•Manage the updating of local national life insurance forms
•Assist in drafting, reviewing, and sending benefits communications to Chemonics employees worldwide
•Organize and ensure timely forwarding of official benefits notices to international employees
•Responsible for Auditing I-9 forms
•Assist with implementing and running expatriate/third-country national and local background checks
Assist with developing local compensation workbooks
•Process monthly purchase orders and invoices for vendors
•Utilize organizational skills to document manage official employee files
•Learn and promote strategies for effective teamwork and leadership development; cultivate collaborative working relationships across the company
•Participate in other departmental projects and activities as requested
Qualifications:
•Currently enrolled in an accredited degree program pursuing a bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required; master’s degree preferred
•Minimum one year of experience working in a corporate office environment
•Interest in international development and knowledge of USAID
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Good organizational skills and attention to detail
•Ability to work in a fast-paced human resources department
•Ability to interact with various levels of the organization
•Proven problem solving skills and initiative to learn new skills
•Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
•Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and database systems
•Demonstrated good judgment and discretion when handling confidential information
•Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
•U.S. work authorization required
