St. Luke's House-Threshold Services UNITED is a Recovery Focused Mental Health Agency in Montgomery County, Maryland. Our community based Residential Program provides individualized therapeutic services in a supportive residential setting.

The Residential Dialectical Behavior Therapy Program is currently accepting resumes for a full time counselor, to work with females who are diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. We are looking for someone who has a strong interest in DBT, has previous experience working with the mentally ill and can work in a challenging and demanding work environment. You will receive a lot of training in DBT and in other areas. This individual will be task with the following responsibilities:

Residential Rehabilitation: Assist and instruct clients in residential living skills such as menu planning, shopping, cleaning, budgeting and participating in leisure therapeutic recreational activities. Counselors must also provide counseling, behavior management and crisis intervention as well as monitor medication to insure compliance with medical instruction.

Community Counseling Services: Assess client needs, develop goals and resources and coordinate client services including quarterly meetings with treatment providers.

Administrative/Facilities Duties: Maintain and submit client records and forms. Assist with maintenance of facilities to comply with licensing and contractual requirements and in keeping general cleanliness standards.

Team Responsibilities: Participate in weekly case consultations and staff meetings; help develop positive relationships with neighbors and the community. Be involved in and contribute to program and administrative projects, meetings, committees, trainings and tasks assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
All interested candidates must have a degree in Psychology, Sociology, Counseling or in a related field. Candidates need to have their own vehicle, valid driver’s license, with no more than 2 points on your driving record, as part of the responsibilities is transporting clients when required by individual treatment plans, and one year experience working with the mentally ill is preferred.
