Become a volunteer counselor at the Help Center Hotline!

UMD Help Center Volunteer Counselors

Description:
Since 1970, Help Center Volunteers have been helping fellow students talk about what's on their minds. The Help Center is a Peer Counseling and Crisis Intervention Hotline at the University of Maryland. Volunteers are trained to talk with students on the phone and in person about anything that's troubling them including homesickness, relationships, sexual assault, and suicide.

Qualifications:
Freshman or Sophomore standing preferred.

How to Apply:
If you're interested in becoming a Help Center Volunteer Counselor, call 301-314-HELP to set up an interview. If selected, you must be available February 28th from 6:30-9:00 pm and March 2 & 3 from 9:00 am-5:00 pm.
