Non-profit internship opportunities with "A Wider Circle!"

A Wider Circle just completed its eleventh year of service to the most vulnerable children and adults by providing basic need items as well as adult life skills classes and other educational programs. We have furnished over 2,300 homes so far this year for families and individuals whose annual income averages around $11,000. We serve the neediest of the needy. As we grow, we have even bigger goals for being a dynamic force in the movement to end poverty.

A Wider Circle is a grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that hires 20 unpaid interns each semester to work out of our Center for Community Service in Silver Spring. Interns are truly the lifeblood of our organization. In addition to direct service and education internships, there are business, marketing, research, and strategic planning internships available. We have a new education initiative at an elementary school in Southeast D.C. The focus of the program is to help 100% of the incoming 3rd grade class reach proficiency in reading to and to provide additional social services and educational opportunities for children, parents and staff. We request that all interns commit to working at least 15 hours per week. Students interested in our internships should submit a resume and cover letter at intern@awidercircle.org.
