St. Luke's House, Threshold Services UNITED is a Recovery Focused Mental Health Agency. We are located in Bethesda, Maryland, with satellite offices in Silver Spring and Rockville. Our mission is to help people live, learn and work successfully in the community, by offering integrated mental health services and community resources. Our award winning Back-to-Work Program helps people with a mental illness to choose, find and maintain employment. Its individualized service has helped thousands of individuals successfully return back to work. If you are interested in psychiatric vocational counseling and becoming a Supported Employment Specialist (SES), you would be given the following responsibilities:
Job Development: The SES will identify the individuals’ strengths in the area of job search and support clients in the following areas: resume and cover letter writing, interview presentation, accessing community resources for their job search and how to disclose their disability to potential employers, to name a few.
Job Placement: The SES will assess the clients’ individual strengths and weaknesses to determine where psychiatric vocational support services will be necessary. Follow along services: The SES will continue to provide psychiatric vocational support services for as long as is necessary
Qualifications:
To qualify for this position you need to have a bachelor's degree in psychology or in a related field. Have full access to a vehicle, with no more than 2 points on your driving record, as you will need to use your own vehicle for work. You must be willing to work some evenings and weekends, meeting with clients at work, in the community or in their home. Work hours may vary, allowing for a flexible schedule.
