Research Assistant Position in new Dr. Jaeggi Lab!

Dr. Jaeggi is seeking a research assistant to help in establishing a new lab on the University of Maryland campus.
Applicants should be able to work at least 20 hours per week on a regular basis, preferably full-time (salaried payment; commensurate with experience). This is a temporary position for the period from January to June 2012, and due to the short time period of the position, it does not offer benefits.

Description of responsibilities:
*setting up the lab website
*writing IRB applications
*helping establish school contacts for conducting studies
*overseeing and managing the overall course of experiments that will take place in the lab
*recruiting participants, as well as training and supervision of undergraduate research assistants who will be involved in the research projects
*entering and analyzing data
Qualifications:
*Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field (psychology, education, or neuroscience)
*Previous research experience and/or experience managing research projects
*The ability to work independently, pay keen attention to detail
*Excellent public relations skills and the ability to interact warmly and professionally with school boards, teachers, parents and children, but also student participants and undergraduate research assistants
*Strong organizational, computational, managerial, problem-solving, and analytic skills are essential *Knowledge in Excel, SPSS, and basic programming skills (e.g. Eprime, Visual Basic, Matlab) are desired
