Research Assistant Openings in MPCRL Laboratory Apply today!

Undergraduate research assistant opportunities are available for Spring 2012 in the Maryland Psychotherapy Clinic and Research Laboratory (MPCRL). The MPCRL provides high-quality counseling and psychotherapy to adults in the Prince George's County, Montgomery County, and the Washington, D.C. area. Treatment focuses on insight and understanding difficulties in relationship problems, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and meaning of life. Responsibilities:  Research assistants will help with the administrative tasks required to keep the clinic running, including interacting with clients and therapists. RAs will also become involved in the clinic’s research, which studies the effectiveness of psychotherapy. Research assistants will view, code, and occasionally transcribe therapy sessions. RAs who have taken Basic Helping Skills, PSYC 433, may also be invited to work on additional research projects.

Requirements:  Applicants should have an overall GPA of 3.5 or higher, and be prepared to work 9 hours per week for 3 hours of course credit (PSYC 479). Research assistants will write a short paper at the end of the semester describing their experiences in the lab.
