Assist in play, leisure and diversionary activities for assigned patients and/or patient groups in age 0 - 18 years. Reports patient behaviors to immediate supervisor verbally and in writing through departmental communication modalities. Communicates regularly with patients, families and hospital staff. Maintains adequate inventory of and maintenance of toy supplies and equipment within Child Life/Therapeutic Recreation area. High School or GED. Current CPR ( may be obtained within three months of employment). 1 year college coursework regarding child development, psychology, therapeutic recreation or education. Required to have three months or 120 hours of experience with children; ideally children with special needs.
